What Carey offers
Services are individualized and responsive to the client's age, needs, strengths, and context. Parent support and school collaboration may be included to provide a fuller picture and continuity across settings.
Therapy helps children make sense of big feelings, worry loops, reassurance-seeking, avoidance, school stress, social challenges, flexibility, accepting limits, and building resilience in ways that reduce shame and build confidence.
Teens have room to be honest, understood, and supported as they navigate mood changes, growing independence, overwhelm, perfectionism, social and identity pressures, family expectations, relationships with parents and caregivers, school demands, and the pressure to keep up or hold it all together.
Many adults come to therapy not because something is wrong, but because life no longer feels aligned with who they are or how they want to show up. Therapy can help adults understand old patterns, navigate changing roles or life transitions, and move toward a more meaningful way of living and relating.
Support for attention, planning, motivation, emotional intensity, task initiation, school stress, and the exhaustion that can come from trying to hold it all together.
Help with worry loops, reassurance-seeking, OCD patterns, shutdown, avoidance, sadness, irritability, perfectionism, sleep disruption, and daily life that feels harder than it needs to be.
Therapy can build language for big emotions, conflict, reactivity, family stress, boundaries, rupture and repair, and the desire for more connection at home, school, or work.
Carey supports children, teens, and adults with digital habits that feel hard to manage, substance use, alcohol use, recovery-related concerns, and other cycles that may call for more awareness, support, and new ways of responding.
Therapy in practice
Sessions may include conversation, psychoeducation, creative expression, skill-building, parent consultation, collaboration with schools or providers when helpful, and pacing that respects the client's readiness.
Carey's individual therapy is trauma-informed and nervous-system-informed across ages. This means therapy pays attention to safety, regulation, lived experience, protective strategies, emotional awareness, coping skills, and the changes each person wants to make.
Parent-focused work helps caregivers understand emotional needs, reduce conflict at home, set realistic limits, reduce anxiety accommodations when helpful, and respond with more clarity, co-regulation, and compassion. This may include SPACE-informed parenting support.
When helpful and appropriate, Carey collaborates with caregivers, teachers, school teams, medical providers, and other supports so clients have more consistency across environments.
Groups create space for connection, belonging, expression, and growth. Community workshops offer practical education and support for parents, caregivers, and the wider community. Carey is also developing parent support groups for caregivers seeking education, shared language, and support around ADHD, neurodivergence, and family life.
